Alexandria beat LNZ away in final match of second round of UPL

Ruslan Rotan’s team started the season with an away win in Cherkassy

The final match of the second round took place in Cherkassy UPLLNZ suffered a defeat at home from Alexandria (0:2).

The score in the match was opened in the 58th minute – after a corner kick, the visiting team’s newcomer Nikita Kravchenko made a great pass into the penalty area, and Kirill Kovalets headed the ball into the LNZ goal.

Ruslan Rotan’s team doubled their advantage in the 73rd minute – Bezerra broke into the hosts’ penalty area at an angle and shot, the ball ricocheted off LNZ centre-back Aidi Dayko and flew into Yevgeny Kucherenko’s goal.

As a result, Oleksandria opened the season with a confident away victory. Let us recall that its match of the first round of the UPL against Dynamo was postponed due to the call-up of a number of players from both teams to the Ukrainian Olympic team. LNZ, in turn, snatched a victory over the Left Bank in the last seconds of the opening round at home (1:0).

In the third round of the UPL, LNZ will host Rukh on August 18, and Alexandria will play away against Zorya the day before.
