The Argentine forward has signed a contract with Atletico until 2030
Atletico announced the transfer of the striker Manchester City Julian Alvarez.
The 24-year-old Argentine signed a contract with the Mattress Makers until 2030. It was previously reported that the Mattress Makers would pay 75 million euros for the Argentine.
Alvarez has been with Manchester City since the summer of 2022, joining from River Plate. Last season, he played 54 matches in all competitions, scoring 19 goals and providing 13 assists.
Together with the Argentina national team, Julian won the 2022 World Cup, as well as two Copa Americas (2021 and 2024). In total, Alvarez scored 9 goals in 36 matches for the Albiceleste.
This off-season, Atletico have already signed Villarreal forward Alexander Sørloth, and the Mattress Makers are also close to signing Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.
Atletico finished fourth in the Spanish league last season. Diego Simeone’s team will begin the new season on August 19, when they play Villarreal away in the opening round of La Liga.
