Luzan is the 1000m single canoe world champion

The second Ukrainian medal for the day

Ukrainian Ludmila Luzan won 2022 world championship gold in canoeing and kayaking, which takes place in Canada.

Luzan became world champion in Canoe solo 1000 meters. The Ukrainian was more than two seconds ahead of the silver medalist Maria Maillard from Chile.

Note that Luzan took part in the second final of the day. Earlier, Lyudmila and Anastasia Chetverikova became silver medalists in canoe-deuce rowing at a distance of 500 meters.

In total, Luzan won her fifth World Championships medal. In 2021, she won gold (canoe-double, 500m), silver (canoe-single, 500m) and bronze (canoe-four, 500m).

Earlier, the bronze of the world championship in Halifax was won by a kayak-four (Oleg Kukharik, Dmitry Danilenko, Igor Trunov and Ivan Semikin) at a distance of 500 m.
