Krasnoyarsk Territory Sports Minister Denis Petrovsky told that figure skating is popular in Krasnoyarsk and the city is ready to host two events in this sport in the 2024/25 season – the stage and the final of the Russian Grand Prix.
Earlier, the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) announced that the final of the Russian Grand Prix of the 2024/25 season will be held in Krasnoyarsk. The competition is scheduled for February 13-17. Initially, Novosibirsk was supposed to host them. The Grand Prix stage in Krasnoyarsk is scheduled for November 6-10.
— The FFKKR proposed that we organize two events in the 2024/25 season. We are already ready to organize two sports events during the season; Usually, there was one thing. After a while, the federation offered us. Recently, in Krasnoyarsk, there was a refereeing seminar under the auspices of the FFKKR. As part of the event, we held a working meeting with Alexander Ilyich Kogan (General Director of the FFKKR), and now we are discussing the regulations and tasks necessary for holding the event.

— After the Universiade, we hold major figure skating competitions almost every year. In 2022, there was a pre-Olympic training camp in Krasnoyarsk, then we had the Russian Championship, and last season the Russian Grand Prix stage was held. There were also competitions among juniors, where admission was free, and we were almost sold out, this is a good indicator. This shows the interest in figure skating in the region, ”Petrovsky told .
