The President of the All-Russian Athletics Federation (ARAF) Petr Ivanov said that Russian athletes could well compete with those who took part in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
On Wednesday, Ivanov signed a cooperation agreement with the President of the International Boxing Association (IBA) Umar Kremlev. According to the agreement, the prize money for medalists of the Russian Athletics Championships in Yekaterinburg will be equal to the amount of bonuses for medalists of the Paris Olympics.
— The final of the Russian Athletics Championship will take place this Thursday in Yekaterinburg. “Unfortunately, our athletes did not go to the Olympics; many achieved decent results. They could compete with the athletes who participated in the Olympics. The Paris Olympics took place from July 26 to August 11.
Russian track and field athletes have been suspended from international competitions due to the situation in Ukraine.
