18-year-old Ukrainian Felfner became the U20 world champion in javelin throw

Competitions are held in Colombian Cali

Ukrainian Arthur Felfner won gold in javelin throw U20 World Championship in athletics in Cali, Colombia.

Felfner was the favorite for the competition and quickly seized the lead, setting the best record in the sector. For some time, the German athlete Max Dening bypassed him, throwing a projectile at 77.24 meters.

The fifth attempt of the Ukrainian was decisive. Felfner threw the javelin at 79.36 meters. In his last attempt, the German could not improve the result, and Arthur became the world champion.

Felfner already had a silver medal at the 2021 World Junior Championships. Also, the Ukrainian is the European champion in the U20 category.

The World Championship in Cali will end on Saturday, August 6th.
