Senior coach of the Russian junior swimming team Lydia Kapkova said the match between the Russians and the Hungarians was positive.
The junior team of the Russian national team won 34 gold, 11 silver and 10 bronze medals at the match meeting in Debrecen, Hungary.
— We came, competed, showed good results, despite the end of the season. The road was not easy, we crossed Serbia, but it did not affect the performance.
— Did you feel that the guys were emotionally involved in this beginning?
– Definitely! The emotional context was good, everyone saw it as their first international start, even though in most cases they won with a wide margin. Everything was well organized, the city is small, you can walk to the swimming pool, everything is very close.
— How was your arrival received?
— These are mainly club competitions. We came as we used to come to the European Championships, for example. Everyone minds their own business. No aggression, everything is calm. This is our first international start in a long time. We finished our performance at the Sportsman’s Day with two Russian records: the record held by Ksenia Misharina in the 800m and the women’s 4x200m freestyle relay. So everything went positively,” Kapkova told .
