Russian Paralympic swimmer Victoria Ishiulova told about her dream of visiting Paris and seeing the Eiffel Tower.
On Tuesday, an open training session of Russian swimmers takes place in Kaluga ahead of the Paralympic Games in the French capital, which will take place from August 28 to September 8.
— How do you feel before these Paralympic Games?
— There is a slight tremor inside. But I believe that we will go there, we will perform, we will win and everything will be fine. There is excitement before the upcoming serious competitions. But it is pleasant and I have only positive emotions.
— What memories do you have of the Paris Olympics?
— I didn’t watch much. But the opening ceremony turned out to be resounding, even controversial. And in the pool, healthy guys swim well and beautifully. I really like to look at their equipment and adopt something for myself.
—Would you go if you were allowed to attend the opening ceremony?
— I would go with pleasure. But I don’t think we’ll make it. They might not let us in.
— Have you ever been to Paris?
— We went to the World Cup in France a few months ago. We flew to Limoges, 400 km from Paris, where we were passing through. It seems like I was, but I didn’t seem to be. I even saw the Eiffel Tower, but it was very far away. I think this will actually be my first trip to Paris.
— Where would you like to go if you have a free day?
— Since childhood, I dreamed of the Eiffel Tower. I literally praised it from the age of five. I even bought myself clothes with its image. It is a huge dream to be there and see it live. During our recent trip to France, the Eiffel Tower was visible from the sky. At that moment, tears began to flow from my eyes. This is a very bright and magical image of childhood, ”Ishiulova told .
Earlier, RKR President Pavel Rozhkov told that the organization had sent applications of 92 athletes to the Paralympic Games Organizing Committee. It is expected that 48 track and field athletes, 35 swimmers, five table tennis athletes, two triathlon and two taekwondo athletes will take part in the Games in the French capital.
