Derevyanchenko: My advantage in the fight with Mbilly is experience

The fight will take place on the night of August 18 in Quebec, Canada.

Ukrainian super middleweight boxer Sergey Derevyanchenko (15-5, 10 KO) spoke about the upcoming fight with the Frenchman Christian Mbilly (27-0, 22 KOs).

“Every fight I’ve had has helped me get this opportunity. I’m ready for an aggressive fight. I’ve seen him fight. He’s strong. He’s aggressive. But I’m ready. As soon as I got offered this fight, I was going to sign the contract because this guy is number one.”

“My experience is an advantage. It helped me. We’ll see what comes of it.”

Let us recall that the 10-round fight between Derevyanchenko and Mbilly will take place on Saturday evening, August 17 (Ukrainian time – early Sunday morning, August 18), in Quebec (Canada). The event will be held at the Videotron Center arena. The event will be broadcast in Ukraine by the MEGOGO media service, and Vladimir Kobelkov will comment on the boxing evening.

Mbilly, 29, is a Frenchman of Cameroonian descent. On the night of May 26, he defeated Britain’s Mark Heffron by technical knockout in the first round. This victory was Christian’s seventh defense of the WBC Continental Americas super middleweight title.

In April in New York, Derevyanchenko confidently won on points against American Vaughn Alexander. Earlier, Sergey lost to Mexican Jaime Munguia by decision. At the end of last year, Sergey said that he plans to compete in the professional arena for about two more years, and his main goal remains winning the title.
