Ed has been a sponsor of the Ipswich Town men’s and women’s teams since 2021
Famous singer Ed Sheeran became a minority shareholder Ipswich.
His stake in the club is 1.4%. Ed has been given long-term use of the executive box at Portman Road. The singer is not a member of the board of directors.
“It’s every football fan’s dream to own the club they support and I’m very grateful for that opportunity. I’m not a voting shareholder or a board member, I’m just putting money into the club I love and they love me back, so please don’t come asking me for signings or tactics,” Ed said.
Sheeran grew up in Suffolk, where Ipswich is located, and has sponsored the shirts of his hometown club’s men’s and women’s teams since 2021.
Ipswich are back in the Premier League for the first time in 22 years. Kieran McKenna’s side host Liverpool on the opening day of the new season on August 17.
