Mbilly: I will knock out Derevyanchenko or win by unanimous decision

The fight between the Ukrainian and the French boxer will take place in Quebec on the night of August 18

French super middleweight boxer Christian Mbilly (27-0, 22 KO) is confident that he can knock out the Ukrainian Sergey Derevyanchenko (15-5, 10 KO), or win by decision.

“We have been looking for such an opponent for a long time. Derevyanchenko has fought many champions. I think he is the best fighter for me to show the boxing world how good I am.”

“To win, I have to be the best in everything – technically, physically, in speed. I see a very tough fight. I will either knock him out or win by unanimous decision.”

“I’m going to give it everything I’ve got. It’s going to be a spectacular fight.”

“If I knock him out, that would be perfect. But I’m not going out there for knockouts. I’m going to beat people up round after round. If I get the opportunity to knock him out, I’m going to take it.”

Let us recall that the 10-round fight between Derevyanchenko and Mbilly will take place on Saturday evening, August 17 (Ukrainian time – early Sunday morning, August 18), in Quebec (Canada). The event will be held at the Videotron Center arena. The event will be broadcast in Ukraine by the MEGOGO media service, and Vladimir Kobelkov will comment on the boxing evening.

Mbilly, 29, is a Frenchman of Cameroonian descent. On the night of May 26, he defeated Britain’s Mark Heffron by technical knockout in the first round. This victory was Christian’s seventh defense of the WBC Continental Americas super middleweight title.

In April in New York, Derevyanchenko confidently won on points against American Vaughn Alexander. Earlier, Sergey lost to Mexican Jaime Munguia by decision. At the end of last year, Sergey said that he plans to compete in the professional arena for about two more years, and his main goal remains winning the title.
