Poltava scored a goal in each half
The third round match took place in Poltava UPL — Vorskla won a victory over Obolon (2:0).
The score was opened in the 24th minute – Obolon goalkeeper Fedorivsky parried a long-range shot, but did so right at the foot of Poltava midfielder Nesterenko. And in the 69th minute, Obolon newcomer Kurko made an unsuccessful pass – Kane intercepted the ball and easily doubled his team’s advantage.
Thus, the failure in the opening round against Shakhtar (0:5) remains Vorskla’s only misfire at the start of the season, with Serhiy Dolgansky’s team winning the other two matches. Obolon, after three rounds, has only one point to its credit – all thanks to a home draw against Kolos (2:2).
Vorskla will play its next match on August 31 away against Karpaty (since its fourth round game against Dynamo was postponed). Obolon will play in the Ukrainian Cup against Kolos on August 21, after which it will play an away match against Poliesia in the UPL on August 25.
