Emilie Tangara won a gold medal at the Russian Athletics Championships in the 400-meter hurdles.
Tangara covered the distance in 56.56 seconds. Second place went to Kristina Vershinina (57.26), third place went to the representative of Belarus Ekaterina Belanovich (57.46). Irina Baulina finished fourth (58.06).
In the men’s race, Fedor Ivanov won the distance with a time of 49.58 seconds, ahead of Vladimir Lysenko (49.69) and Vadim Kukalev (50.33).
The winner of the men’s triple jump competition was Dmitry Chizhikov, who jumped 16.58 meters in his best attempt. Vitaly Pavlov won silver (16.42), bronze – Oleg Braiko (16.38). Boris Bezdolny won the javelin throw (80.15).
