In the third round, the Ukrainian injured his left hand, which left its mark on the rest of the fight.
A fight between Ukrainian super middleweight boxer Sergey Derevyanchenko (15-6, 10 KO) and the Frenchman Christian Mbilly (28-0, 22 KOs). The Ukrainian suffered a unanimous decision defeat.
Mbilly took the initiative from the very first round and looked more confident, and in the third round Derevyanchenko suffered an injury to his left hand, due to which he boxed the rest of the fight with practically only his right hand. Nevertheless, to the credit of the Ukrainian, he managed to hold out the entire distance of the 10-round fight, but the judges’ decision was unanimous – 100:90, 99:91, 99:91 in favor of Mbilly.
Derevyanchenko suffered his sixth defeat in the professional ring, while Mbilly still does not know the bitterness of defeat. For the Frenchman, this fight was the second in the last three months – in May, Christian defeated the British Mark Heffron by technical knockout in the first round.
In the fight with Sergey Derevyanchenko, Mbilly successfully defended his WBC Continental Americas title in the super middleweight division for the eighth time. The Ukrainian had previously said that he planned to fight in the professional arena for about two more years, and that his main goal remains winning the title.
