Leverkusen want to keep the Burkina Faso in their ranks
Defender Bayera Edmond Tapsoba attracted the interest of several unnamed clubs from Saudi Arabia.
Tapsoba is reportedly a top transfer target for some of these clubs this summer, although Bayer itself intends to keep the 25-year-old centre-back in its squad and classifies him as a player who is not for sale.
Tapsoba has been playing for Bayer since January 2020. Last season, the centre-back was an important part of winning the domestic double – Tapsoba played 46 matches in all competitions, scoring three goals and making one assist.
Bayer officially opened the new season yesterday – Xabi Alonso’s team beat Stuttgart on penalties (2:2, pen. 4:3) and won the German Super Cup.
Bayer will play their next match on August 23 in the first round of the Bundesliga against Borussia Mönchengladbach.
