Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky deprived Ukrainian figure skater Viktor Petrenko of a state scholarship for participating in Tatyana Navka’s ice show “The Scarlet Flower”. On this subject reported press service of Zelensky’s office.

– Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has deprived Ukrainian figure skater, champion of the XVI Winter Olympics in figure skating Viktor Petrenko of his scholarship. The Head of State signed a corresponding decree. In July this year, the athlete performed at the Scarlet Flower ice show in Sochi, according to a statement posted on Zelensky’s office website.

Petrenko, 53, became the champion of the Albertville Olympics in 1992 as part of the Unified Team (CIS).

Earlier it became known that the Ukrainian Figure Skating Federation expelled Petrenko from its membership due to the fact that he took part in the show Navka. Also suspended his powers as vice president of the organization.
