Russian figure skater Anastasia Zinina explained why she posted a video on social media, where she talked about three suicide attempts, and also stressed that she had no intention of ending her career.

Previously, the athlete had posted a video in which she stated that she “survived three suicide attempts, a rape attempt and was almost left permanently disabled due to medical error.”

— I would like to draw your attention to my recent video. We need to clarify something. The purpose of the video was to grow personally and overcome all the obstacles in life that I unfortunately had to endure. It is positive.

I am very sorry that this has caused such a wave of pessimistic reactions. I am fine now. I am incredibly happy. I am training, preparing hard for the season. There was no question of retiring from my career.

Zinina is 17 years old; at the Russian Championships of the 2022/23 season, the athlete took fifth place.
