Swiss Scherer to referee first match between Dynamo and Salzburg in Champions League playoffs

He was the one who officiated the match between Real and Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup

Swiss Sandro Scherer will officiate the first match Dynamo And Salzburg in the playoffs Champions League.

The 36-year-old referee recently took charge of the UEFA Super Cup match between Real Madrid and Atalanta (2-0). He also worked at Euro 2024.

Scherer will be assisted by Jonas Erni and Susanne Küng. The fourth official is Lionel Tschudi. Fedayi San and Johannes von Mandach will be responsible for the VAR system.

Dynamo made it to the playoff round thanks to successful performances in matches with Partizan and Rangers. For the right to play in the group stage of the main European Cup, the Kiev team will fight Salzburg, which at this stage dealt with the Dutch Twente – 2:1, 3:3.

The first game between Dynamo and Salzburg will take place in Lublin, Poland at the Lublin Arena on Wednesday, August 21. Kick-off is at 22:00 Kyiv time. Tickets are already on sale. The return match is scheduled for the Red Bull Arena in Salzburg on August 27 (22:00 Kyiv time).
