Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva removed from his profile on the social network Instagram (owned by the company Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) the mention of the gold medal of the 2022 European Championship.

In the header of the 18-year-old figure skater’s account, there is no longer a line indicating that she is the European champion, but it is noted that Valieva set a world record.

In late January, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) suspended Valieva for four years for an anti-doping rule violation. The athlete’s ineligibility period begins on December 25, 2021, and her results have been void since that date. Valieva was also stripped of gold at the 2022 European Championships, and the Russian team was stripped of gold in the team tournament at the 2022 Olympic Games. The International Skating Union (ISU) redistributed the medals in the team competitions at the Beijing Olympics: the American team moved up to first place, the Japanese took second place, and the Russian team won the bronze medal.
