One of the leaders of the French national team bought out his contract from Real for 2.5 million dollars
Madrid’s heavy forward Real And French national team Guershon Yabusele will continue his career in NBA. The 28-year-old player agreed to a one-year contract with Philadelphia 76ers for a total of 2.1 million dollars.
Yabusele bought out his contract with Real for $2.5 million. Philadelphia paid $850,000, and the rest of the amount was paid by the Frenchman himself.
Gershon was the 16th overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft and played for the Boston Celtics from 2017-19. In 74 NBA games, he averaged 2.3 points in 7 minutes per game.
In 2020, Yabusele became a player of the French club ASVEL, and in 2021 he joined Real Madrid. Together with the Madrid giant, he twice became the champion of Spain and won the 2022/23 Euroleague.
Let us recall that Yabusele helped the French team win silver at the 2024 Olympics. On average, the forward scored 14.0 points and made 3.3 rebounds. In the final match against the USA (87:98), Gershon scored 20 points.
Earlier this summer, Philadelphia and star forward Paul George agreed to a four-year, $212 million max contract.
Philadelphia finished seventh in the Eastern Conference standings in the regular season last season. The Sixers beat Miami in the play-ins, but were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs following a six-game series with the New York Knicks.
The new NBA season starts on the night of October 22-23. Philadelphia will play its first game against the Milwaukee Bucks on October 24.
