Ukrainian woman beats Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva from Andorra
Ukrainian tennis player Yulia Starodubtseva advanced to the semi-finals of the qualification US Open 2024.
In the first round, Yulia met with Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva from Andorra. The Ukrainian confidently dealt with her opponent in just over an hour. Starodubtseva gave Jimenez only three games in the match.
In the next round, the Ukrainian will face Xinyu Gao. In the first match, the Chinese defeated the eighth seeded qualifier Olga Danilovic from Serbia.
Earlier, Daria Snigur successfully started the US Open 2024 qualifying round, beating the “neutral” tennis player Valeria Savinykh. On Tuesday, other Ukrainians will also start the qualifying round: Katarina Zavatska will face the Japanese Ena Shibahara, and Anastasia Soboleva will meet the Swedish Mirjam Bjorklund.
US Open 2024 will be held from August 26 to September 8. Six Ukrainian tennis players are guaranteed to play in the tournament’s main draw: Marta Kostyuk, Elina Svitolina, Dayana Yastremska, Angelina Kalinina, Lesia Tsurenko and Kateryna Baindl (the latter is on a “protected ranking”).
