Athletistic / Olympic Games. Russian pole vault champion Polina Knoroz said that the organizers of the athletics tournament at the 2024 Olympics in Paris acted unprofessionally in the women’s final of her program. At the 2024 Olympics, the judges did not allow Australian Nina Kennedy, who eventually became the Olympic champion, to continue performing for a very long time.
“I watched the Olympic final live. What happened at those competitions can only be called a disaster. Having allowed themselves a huge delay, the organizers did everything to prevent Nina Kennedy from continuing to jump to such heights. With adrenaline, I am able to jump even higher – it’s just terrible, I was very angry for Nina,” Knoroz was quoted as saying by TASS.
Nina Kennedy won the Olympics with a score of 4.90 meters. After the winning jump, she waited a very long time for the judges’ permission to jump to 4.95 meters and, as a result, made only one attempt at this height, after which she refused to continue the performance due to emotional exhaustion after a long wait.
On August 18, 11 days after the Olympic women’s pole vault final, Polina Knoroz won the Russian championships in Yekaterinburg with a score of 4.73 m.
