Let us recall that Stevenson defeated Artem Arutyunyan in the main event of the boxing evening in New Jersey. The fight lasted all 12 rounds, and Shakur ultimately won by decision. The WBC initially sanctioned Shakur’s fight with William Zepeda.

Cordina lost unexpectedly to IBO super featherweight titleholder in May Anthony Cacace (22-1, 8 KOs) from Northern Ireland. In the third round, Cacace knocked Cordina down. Joe managed to get back into the fight and force his opponent into a real fight.

However, in the 8th round, after another successful series from Anthony, the referee was forced to stop the fight, because Cordina took too many punches. Cacace became the new IBF champion.

The Cordina-Cacace fight took place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on the undercard of the unification fight for the absolute heavyweight world title between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.
