Athletistic / Biathlon. Russian biathlete Eduard Latypov, a three-time bronze medalist at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing (China), spoke about the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics. The games will be held in Italy – in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.
“Of course, I want to perform at the 2026 Olympics under the Russian flag and anthem. I believe and hope that this will happen. But in this situation, our task is to prepare well. We need to be strong and ready for the Olympics, to show maximum results there and fight for victory,” Latypov said, as quoted by Metaratings.ru.
The 2026 Olympic Games will be held from 6 to 22 February in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo. Currently, the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) has been suspended from its IOC membership due to the admission of representatives of new regions of the country into its composition. For example, at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris (France), only 15 Russian athletes participated and all of them performed in individual neutral status.
