Mandzyn and Borkovsky round out top 7 in junior super sprint at 2024 Summer Biathlon World Championships

Suprun came in 10th, Khmil took 14th place

On the first day of the competition 2024 Summer Biathlon World Championshipswhich took place in Otepää, Estonia, the final took place junior super sprint.

Four Ukrainians took part in the race, but none of them managed to reach the podium. The best were Vitaly Mandzyn And Bogdan Borkovskywho took sixth and seventh places respectively. The top 10 was closed by Sergey Suprun – He, like his aforementioned compatriots, made five misses on the track. 14th place – Mikhail Khmil.

The winner of the super sprint was Czech David Elias. Medals were also won by Croatian Matija Legovic and Swede Viktor Berglund.

Let us recall that Borkovsky and Mandzyn won gold and bronze in the junior sprint at last year’s Summer Biathlon World Championships in Slovakia. They also won medals in the junior pursuit race.

Today, the junior super sprint final will also take place. Ukraine will be represented by five athletes: Viktoria Khvostenko (best result in the qualification), Ksenia Prikhodko, Alexandra Merkushina, Polina Putsko and Elena Gorodnaya.

Tomorrow, August 23, the qualifying and final races in the men’s and women’s super sprint will take place in Otepää. The 2024 Summer World Championships will end on Sunday.
