Scandal in the Second League
FC Uzhgorod issued an official statement criticizing the leadership Rocks 1911 in refusing to postpone a face-to-face match in the next round Second league.
“Mutual understanding, help, respect for the opponent. These words, unfortunately, have nothing to do with the actions of our next opponent – Rock 1911.”
“This is the announcement that best suits our Sunday match. The Stryi team is determined to play at any cost, with the “headless” Uzhgorod club and does not want to discuss any possibilities of transfer. Our club made several attempts and requests to Stryi – each time they were refused.”
“After a serious accident last weekend, all the victims, and that is the entire coaching and medical staff, underwent an in-depth examination, following which they were forced to continue their treatment and recovery. Consequently, the team was left without coaches and doctors and is forced to prepare for the match in this mode.”
“Is the absence of all coaches and medical staff sufficient grounds for postponing the meeting? For some clubs, this is clearly not enough. After all, “training microcycles” and the desire to take three points are more important than the health of their colleagues.”
“Every match broadcast begins with words about ‘unification and consolidation’ – but is it appropriate for these words to be heard on Sunday?”
Last weekend, a minibus with the coaching and management staff of FC Uzhgorod got into an accident on the way to the Second League match against Polesie-2.
As a result of the incident, the team’s head coach Jaromir Loboda, coach Robert Smokorovsky, and doctor Vladimir Chervinyak were injured. They were taken to the nearest hospital. Physical therapist Mikhail Dankov and strategic director Felix Ardeljanov received less severe injuries.
The face-to-face match between Uzhgorod and Skala 1911 is scheduled for August 25. Skala has four points after two rounds, Uzhgorod has one point.
