The experienced goalkeeper signed a one-year contract
Everton officially signed the goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.
The 37-year-old goalkeeper has signed a contract until the summer of 2025. Asmir joined the Toffees as a free agent.
This is Begovic’s second spell at Everton. The Bosnian played there between 2021 and 2023 (10 matches in all competitions). The experienced goalkeeper also played for Stoke City, Bournemouth, Chelsea and Milan.
Begovic played 63 matches for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team – he was part of that historic team that qualified for the 2014 World Cup for the only time in the country’s history.
Last season, Begovic played 45 matches for Queens Park Rangers in the Championship, leaving the team this summer as a free agent.
Everton, for whom Ukrainian defender Vitaliy Mykolenko plays, began the season with a home defeat to Brighton (0:3). In the second round of the Premier League, the Toffees will face Tottenham on the road on August 24.
Asmir Begovic has rejoined Everton, signing a one-year contract until the end of June 2025.
Welcome back, @asmir1! 💙
