Athletistic / Rhythmic gymnastics. Two-time Olympic champion Anastasia Bliznyuk has spoken out about her illness ahead of the Tokyo Olympics.

“It was a hantavirus – hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome. I thought it was a simple food poisoning. The temperature rose and the intoxication began abruptly. Fortunately, there was a team doctor nearby who put me on an IV for the night and agreed with the FMBA. “I went to the clinic to be examined in the morning by more serious specialists. Then he admitted: he had no confidence that I would last until morning,” the gymnast shared with RT.

At the Tokyo Olympics, Bliznyuk took second place in the group all-around, losing gold to the Bulgarian team. Today, the gymnast coaches the Chinese national team. At the Paris Olympics, for the first time in history, they took first place in the group all-around.
