This proposal was put forward by the President of the Russian Artistic Gymnastics Federation Vasily Titov. At the world level, this experience is already being used: gymnastic sports are under the leadership of the International Gymnastics Federation.
“Practice shows that it is quite possible to manage all these types from one center. This is not an easy task, it requires a lot of organizational efforts, it can bring significant benefits to our types of gymnastics. We will reduce the costs associated with maintenance. Thanks to the administrative apparatus, we will be able to more effectively control the funds coming from the gambling sector and help those who have difficulties with financing – not everyone has sponsors,” TASS quotes Titov.
The president of the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation Irina Viner supported this idea.
“In the current international situation, I support the decision to unite the federations. All aspects of future development must be taken into account in a detailed roadmap, which must be discussed with all representatives of the federations,” comments Wiener.
Currently, there are five gymnastics sports in Russia: rhythmic and artistic gymnastics, artistic acrobatics, trampoline and aerobics – all of them are under the leadership of different federations.
