Famous German coach Christoph Daum died after a long illness. The former mentor was 70 years old.

In October 2022, Daum was diagnosed with lung cancer. The coach underwent treatment and then began appearing on various shows, talking about his illness. In this way, Christoph motivated himself and others to fight cancer.

Daum began his coaching career in Cologne, then headed Besiktas and Stuttgart. The coach gained the greatest popularity during his work with Bayer, winning prizes in the Bundesliga four times. Christoph was one step away from heading the German national team, but lost this opportunity due to a scandal with cocaine use. The coach’s last place of work was the Romanian national team.

As a coach, Daum became a three-time Turkish champion, and also won the Austrian championship and national cups of several countries. With Stuttgart, Christoph won the Bundesliga in 1992.
