Lyudmila became a four-time world champion
Ukrainian sportswoman Ludmila Luzan conquered gold on 2024 World Canoe Sprint Championships in Samarkand (Uzbekistan).
Lyudmila won the swim single canoe at a distance 500 m. The Ukrainian showed a result of 02:06.881. Luzan was two seconds ahead of Maria Mailliard from Chile. Bronze was won by Maria Brovkova from Kazakhstan.
Luzan became a four-time world champion. Previously, the Ukrainian won the canoe double 500 meters twice (in 2021 and 2022), as well as the single 1000 meters in 2022.
Earlier, at the 2024 World Championships in Samarkand, Yuriy Vondyuk and Pavlo Borsuk won bronze in the men’s canoe doubles at a distance of 1000 meters. On Sunday, in addition to the Luzan 500m final, there will be ten more races with the participation of Ukrainian athletes.
