To qualify for the tournament in China, Monte needs to defeat KOI and BLEED
Ukrainian eSports organization Monte got a second chance to qualify for RMR tournament To Shanghai Major 2024The reason is the disqualification of the Russian team PARIVISION, which had previously passed the qualifying stage.
PARIVISION were punished because the team’s coach Ivan “F_1N” Kochugov, who had previously received an indefinite ban from Valve, was present in the same room with the players during the closed qualifier matches.
The vacant spot will be played for by three teams from Group A that finished the closed European qualification with a 2-3 record: Monte, KOI and BLEED.
First, Monte and KOI will play each other, and then the winner will meet BLEED for a slot in the RMR tournament. The matches will be held in the best of 3 format (up to two wins). The fights are scheduled for August 27.
Let us recall that Monte lost to KOI, Dynamo Eclot and B8 in Group A of the closed qualifiers, and also beat UNiTY and ENCE.
Alexander Zinchenko’s organization Passion UA (for the first time in its history) and B8 made it to the RMR tournament. Natus Vincere received a direct invitation.
The RMR tournament will be held in a LAN format in China from November 17 to 24. The Perfect World Shanghai Major itself will be held from November 30 to December 15. This will be the first CS major in China.
