The stage in Rome will be the penultimate before the 2024 Diamond League final in Brussels. To qualify for it, Doroshchuk needs to finish in the top 6 of the high jump rankings (Oleg currently occupies an intermediate 13th position), and Ryzhikova in the top 8, the Ukrainian currently shares an intermediate 5th place.
Both Doroshchuk and Ryzhikova competed yesterday at the Diamond League stage in Silesia. For Oleg, this stage was his debut in his career and he immediately won bronze, clearing the bar at a height of 2.29 m. Anna Ryzhikova performed less successfully in Silesia – yesterday she only came in eighth in the 400-meter hurdles.
The Diamond League round in Rome will take place on Friday, August 30, followed by the round in Zurich, and the 2024 Diamond League final will be held in Brussels from September 13-14.
