“At the moment, the information is that our athletes will not be allowed to attend the opening ceremony,” Ivan Potekhin, deputy chief of staff of the Russian Paralympic Committee, said in an interview with Match TV.
Recall that in March it was announced that Russian and Belarusian Paralympic athletes would be banned from participating in the opening and closing ceremonies of the Paralympic Games. As for the 2024 Olympics, a similar ban was initially in effect, but during the Games the organizers changed their decision regarding the closing ceremony.
The 2024 Paralympic Games will take place from August 28 to September 8 and will bring together 90 Russian athletes.
