Athletistic/OI. The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has refused to conduct additional tests on Russian and Belarusian athletes competing in the Paris Games, as demanded by the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Ukraine, the IPC reported to TASS.

Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian National Assembly Valery Sushkevich presented an ultimatum to the leadership of the IPC, the organizing committee of the Games and French President Emmanuel Macron, insisting on checking once again the Russians’ compliance with the status of neutrality. He also expressed dissatisfaction with the ban on political actions at the Paralympics.

The IPC explained that an independent private intelligence service provider was appointed prior to the Paralympic Games to assess the eligibility of participants. The results were carefully reviewed by an external law firm based on the selection criteria.

“The APN of Ukraine was also asked to provide all the information it had about Russian and Belarusian athletes, but it did not provide anything,” the IPC stressed.

88 Russian athletes have received accreditation and visas to participate in the Paris Paralympic Games; the issue of the remaining two athletes is still being resolved.
