It was previously reported that the transfer amount would be 25 million euros, and the Portuguese would earn 15 million per year
Manchester City officially announced the transfer of his defender Joao Cancelo in Saudi Arabia Al-Hilal.
The 30-year-old Portuguese has moved to the Middle East on a permanent basis. It was previously reported that Joao would sign a three-year contract and would earn 15 million euros a year at his new club.
Before this, it became known that Al-Hilal had agreed with Manchester City on the transfer of the defender for 25 million euros.
In mid-August, it was reported that Barcelona, for whom the Portuguese played on loan last season, were working on leasing Cancelo. Cancelo himself also expressed a desire to return to Camp Nou. The clubs failed to agree on the amount of the player’s final buyout.
The Portuguese had a contract with the Citizens until the summer of 2027. Last season, Cancelo scored four goals and made five assists in 42 matches for Barcelona.
Al-Hilal started the Saudi Arabian championship with a crushing away win over Al-Ahdud (3:0). Jorge Jesus’ team will play their next match on August 28 at home against Damac.
