For the first time, the official uniform of Ukrainian Olympians will feature a “protective” color
Ukrainian Paralympic Team officially presented form (ceremonial and sports), in which he will perform at the upcoming Paralympics 2024 in Paris.
The uniform is distinguished by its unusual design. For the first time in the history of the Ukrainian Paralympic movement, it has not only the standard yellow and blue (and white) colors, but also an additional green – the so-called “protective” one. In addition, the equipment has an outline of Ukraine within its sovereign borders.
The head of the Ukrainian Paralympic Committee, Valeriy Sushkevich, made a statement on this matter:
“Pay attention to this uniform, because for more than two months, officials from the International Paralympic Committee refused to approve it, saying that we made the Ukrainian uniform too political.”
“They categorically forbade the map of sovereign independent Ukraine on the uniform, but we pushed through our demands that Ukraine in its internationally recognized borders be on our uniform. They claimed that our uniform had too much of a military design and forbade the additional green-military color that appeared on our uniform.”
“We were able to prove our legal rightness and Ukrainian perception of all the colors of our uniform! And you, our fans – UKRAINIANS, will definitely understand the deeply modern and national philosophy of our uniform at the highest sports forum of the four-year period!”
The 2024 Paralympics will be held in Paris from August 28 to September 8. The Ukrainian team will be represented at the Games by 140 athletes. Ukrainians will compete in 17 of the 22 Paralympic sports – this is a record in the history of our country.
