Stupak recommended parents in Russia to bring children to sports

2022 Olympic champion in the classic relay race, cross-country skier Julia Stupak wanted parents in the Russian Federation to bring their children to the sport, despite the restrictions imposed by the sanctions.

– This is a very difficult time for Russian sport, but I sincerely want to say to parents raising their children: bring your children to sport. Yes, now we take some difficulties for our generation, because we are aware of the attitude towards us, and for many years now …. But I sincerely believe that after a while the situation will normalize, and our anthem will replay at international competitions and the tricolor flag will shine. And our children will already stand on the pedestal. I say this from the bottom of my heart because, despite the difficulties, I am living an incredible sporting career!

And I sincerely wish every little athlete to step onto the top step of the Olympic podium and experience these incredible sensations. I write this because I understand that it is in our hands not to miss this time, but to increase it for future sporting heights. For those taking their first steps into the sport now, but 10 years from now setting new world records! – Stupak wrote on the social network, posting a video with a victory dance after finishing at the Beijing Olympics.

Stupak, 27, is also a two-time Korean Olympic bronze medalist in 2018 in the sprint and relay, and a three-time World Championship medallist.

In March, the International Ski Federation (FIS) suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competition until at least the end of the 2021/22 season. In July, the organization extended the suspension until the end of the 2022 summer season.
