Ukrainian beats UK’s Harriet Dart in straight sets
Ukraine’s first racket Marta Kostyuk advanced to the third round of singles US Open 2024.
In the second round, the Ukrainian won a difficult victory over Harriet Dart from Great Britain. The two-set match lasted an hour and a half.
In the first set, Marta made six double faults with four aces, and the fate of the set was decided in a tie-break. Marta saved five set points and won the set on her third attempt.
The second set was dictated by the Ukrainian. Kostyuk won six games in a row, giving up only one to her opponent.
Let us recall that in the first round the Ukrainian confidently dealt with the holder of the wild card McCartney Kessler from the USA. In the third round Kostyuk will play against another American Emma Navarro.
