Alina, everyone is talking about Alina!
And you don’t even need to write her last name – everyone knows which Alina we are talking about.
Okay, the anonymous flock on the Internet will say “inevitably” – to maintain the balance of the body, they need to spit acid, like xenomorphs from the Aliens universe. But even people with quite real names, surnames and patronymics allow themselves, consider it possible and even necessary, to criticize and laugh into their fists: “Oh, how badly the Olympic champion expressed herself, but how badly she spelled one word!”
I am not Alina’s mother, sister, or lawyer: we said hello and exchanged a few words. And Alina does not need lawyers. But I want to answer the critics – because they are not Alina’s critics, they are haunted by the very situation in which a modern young woman builds a career as she sees fit. She does not sit with her arms crossed on her stomach and bleat into the camera: “The most important dignity of a woman is modesty, that’s why I support my husband in everything, I am his reliable support and the keeper of the home.” Or what should we say to “good girls”?
To win the World Championship or the Olympics at least once, you have to be ambitious by definition: modest girls can’t even win the water pumping championship. We need to be able to live in a tight schedule, learn to do a lot of things on our own and from a very early “adolescent” age. This ambition and the habit of constant stress as a way of life make sports too cramped over time. Either you retire, or try to realize yourself in related areas of entertainment for the population – primarily in the media, but also in art and advertising. Yes, we lack basic education; we often fail to remember the difference “between Bach and Feuerbach”. Do you remember? And if you remember, then why do you have an audience of ten thousand people, and Alina already has a few million, but there will be ten. Maybe because millions of girls want to be Alina – and not you, stuffy and mossy?
Yes, in the race to chase all the hares at once, we make mistakes, all of us. I had a couple of completely disastrous live broadcasts where I said total nonsense – and all because Sorin changed the plan at the last moment, instead of a day off, there was a very hard training right before going on air. And there is no one to blame: my main job is as a professional athlete. “First of all, airplanes.” But every time I watch my failure on air, I learn to be better, to quickly search my head for arguments and quotes. It is a challenge and motivation.
Of course, I and, I am sure, Alina want to be like San Sanych Karelin in his ability to capture the attention of the audience, control the degree and direction of the discussion and not allow anyone to doubt the intellectual baggage of the athlete. . This is a great example, we learn from it. But this does not mean that you should remain silent until you reach his age, experience and merits in various fields. Each generation has its own heroes and idols.
Girl athletes, I am speaking to you. Sitting on your ass, expecting that winning a few medals will be enough and glory will find you by itself is stupid and futile. It won’t find it, not these days!
To illustrate this point: at the Russian Athletics Championships, I discovered a new name for myself. A young athlete, she is already competing at the world level and her appearance is absolutely that of a model. Then somewhere I read part of an interview with her, in which she talks about her income. No, she is not complaining, she is strong, but she looks sad: she is barely enough. It should not be enough! Today we have a perfectly adequate system: only a few, the best, can live solely on their sporting successes. Everyone is paid like that – barely enough. This is exactly how it is built all over the world. If you want more, become the best or look for ways to make money with your name. You are already in an advantageous position: producers pay for the promotion of singers and TikTokers, on credit. And you won: you received five minutes of fame and an interview throughout the country. Well, don’t say platitudes – take your chance and make sure the country remembers you!
Alina understands this better than all of us. Understands and acts. On the one hand, she is engaged in her business: she participates in ice shows, produces them and studies. But he also participates in endless interviews, not being afraid of, let’s say, friendly jokes, and appears in video clips.
Intermediate result: the whole country knows Alina – and Alina drives a huge SUV, the dream of every girl and boy in the country. And her champion, who chose to be “just an athlete,” claims that she barely has enough to rent a modest apartment. What do you think, dear critics (those who have names), who do your daughters admire and who do they want to be? Ask them at your leisure.
