Real Madrid draw away to Las Palmas

Carlo Ancelotti’s team dropped points for the second time in three rounds

Real lost points in an away match with Las Palmas in the third round Spanish Championship.

Already in the 5th minute, Alberto Moleiro took advantage of the uncertain play of Real’s defenders and put Las Palmas ahead. In the middle of the first half, 35-year-old Jasper Cillessen saved the home team after a powerful shot by Federico Valverde, and closer to the break, the former Barcelona goalkeeper coped with a long-range shot by Antonio Rudiger.

After the break, Real increased the pressure on the opponent’s goal, but the Madrid team could not beat Cillessen. Las Palmas responded with a dangerous moment from Sandro Ramirez, but the forward shot over the goal.

In the middle of the second half, Real got even – Vinicius Junior converted a penalty. Blancos couldn’t do more – 1:1.

Real Madrid’s Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin spent the entire match on the bench. The goalkeeper has not yet received any game practice in the 2024/25 season.

Real dropped points for the second time in three rounds. The gap between Carlo Ancelotti’s team and the leader Barcelona is now four points. Las Palmas has two points and is in 16th place in La Liga.

In the next round, on September 1, Real will host Betis, which on Thursday beat Kryvbas again (3:0) in the Conference League qualification playoffs. Las Palmas will play away against Alaves on Sunday.
