Ukrainian Belyi wins Paralympic silver in javelin throw

Fifth medal for Ukraine

Ukrainian Vladislav Bely won Silver at the 2024 Paralympic Games V javelin throw. This is the first Ukrainian award in Paris in athletics.

The athlete competed in the F38 class together with his compatriot Oleksandr Doroshenko. In the final, Belyi showed a result of 52.86 meters – this is a personal season record for the Ukrainian.

Doroshenko also showed the best result of the season (51.85). However, the experienced 42-year-old athlete took fourth place.

This is Belyi’s second Paralympic medal. In 2020, the Ukrainian also took second place.

Ukraine has already won five awards in Paris. Yesterday, the blue and yellow team won four sets of medals in swimming.

The 2024 Paralympics are taking place in Paris from August 28 to September 8. The Ukrainian team is represented at the Games by 140 athletes. Ukrainians will compete in 17 of the 22 Paralympic sports – this is a record in the history of our country.
