Bartulovic: The goal was to win this game, and we won it

Zorya’s coach is pleased with the victory over Obolon and believes that his team has great potential

Trainer Zari Mladen Bartulovich commented on his team’s away victory over Obolon (2:0) in the 5th round Ukrainian Premier League.

“I congratulate my team on a very important victory. The game was with a tough opponent and in such difficult weather. Obolon plays a lot with long passes, creates pressure in the penalty area. We managed to cope with this. I liked our reaction, the beginning of the second half of the match. We scored a goal. We calmed the opponent down after that.”

“We had the opportunity to finish the match more calmly, to score a third or even a fourth goal.”

“There was a tense situation in the team. We managed to unite. The goal was to win this game, and we won it. We will try to continue working and progressing. Our team has great potential. There are many young players who will grow in terms of play.”

“Budkovsky is a player who has already been to Zorya. He knows what Zorya is, what the “men” are. We needed such a person in the team. Filipp is an experienced footballer. The team is ok with my decision [сделать Будковского капитаном] “reacts.”

“As for Jakov Basic, we analyzed our last matches. I decided to put him in the central defender position because it is difficult for us to escape from the pressure when a right-footed defender plays in the center on the left. Jakov played very well in this position.”

Let us recall that the Croatian specialist acted as the head coach of the Luhansk team in this match; Yuri Koval had previously left this position, returning to the post of sports director.

Zorya won a confident victory: in the middle of the first half, Petar Micin put the team ahead, and after the break, Filip Budkovskiy celebrated his return to the club with a goal.

The victory was Zorya’s third in five rounds of the Ukrainian championship. In the next round, Bartulovic’s team will play Dynamo on September 14.
