Daniel has a fight with Anthony Joshua coming up
Head of the promotion company Queensberry Promotions Frank Warren before the IBF heavyweight title holder’s fight Daniel Dubois (21-2, 20 KO) with the former world champion Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KO) recalled previous confrontations in Daniel’s career.
“Hrgovic looked very good at the beginning of the fight, catching Daniel with his right. But Dubois gritted his teeth and kept fighting. As a result, Daniel broke his opponent, I think it happened at the end of the fifth round.”
“That was the moment I knew Dubois would stop Hrgovic. Daniel showed what he was capable of.”
“Dubois was an underdog back then. He was an underdog against Jarrell Miller and Oleksandr Usyk,” Warren said.
The fight will take place on September 21. The arena for the event will be London’s Wembley Stadium. There, Dubois will defend his IBF heavyweight title, which he received after Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk renounced the belt.
The fight will be the headliner of a big night of boxing. The undercard will feature fights such as Tyler Denny vs. Hamza Shiraz, Anthony Kasame vs. Josh Warrington, Liam Smith vs. Josh Kelly, Joshua Buatsi vs. Willie Hutchinson and Mark Chamberlain vs. Josh Pudley.
Dubois finished the fight with Filip Hrgovic in the eighth round. The fight took place as part of the “5 on 5” event in Riyadh. The British heavyweight won the title of “interim” IBF champion in the fight with the Croatian.
Joshua won his last fight against former UFC world champion Francis Ngannou. After the fight, Eddie Hearn called Anthony the number 1 heavyweight boxer in the world. Joshua himself spoke about his desire to hold his next fight in June, but he was offered to postpone the fight until September.
