Double podium for Vladimir Ponomarenko and Roman Danylyuk
Double podium for Ukraine Paralympic Games 2024 brought competitions to athletics.
In the final of the shot put (F12), the silver medalist of the Games was Vladimir PonomarenkoHe set a personal best of 16.12 m.
Roman Danylyuk came in third with a result of 16.11 m. The championship went to the representative of Uzbekistan Elben Sultonov (16.45 m).
For Ponomarenko, the medal at the Games was his debut. Danylyuk won his third Paralympic award after the bronze at Rio 2016 and the silver at Tokyo 2020.
In total, Ukraine has 11 medals (1 + 6 + 4). Today, para-tennis players Viktor Didukh and Irina Shinkareva in mixed doubles became silver medalists of the tournament in Paris.
The 2024 Paralympics are taking place in Paris from August 28 to September 8. The Ukrainian team is represented at the Games by 140 athletes. Ukrainians are competing in 17 of the 22 Paralympic sports – a record in the history of our country.
