She has two Olympic medals to her credit.
Ukrainian World and European Champion in Artistic Swimming Marta Fedina ended her sports career.
In her address, the 22-year-old athlete thanked her teammates, coaches and fans who always supported her at competitions.
“It was a beautiful story of a girl who came at the age of 5 just to learn how to swim. It seemed like I had achieved everything I could dream of in my sport, but I always wanted more.”
“These two years have been difficult for every Ukrainian athlete, and I am no exception. I have had the bitter experience of defeats, tears and despair. It is an unpleasant feeling when you cannot achieve your goal, when you stop one step away from it.”
“That’s what happened with my second Olympics, we failed to qualify as a team for Paris. We accepted the defeat with dignity, so that, having learned our lessons, we could return stronger. After such gifts of fate, you really begin to appreciate yourself, your achievements, and the people who were with you throughout this wonderful, interesting, and difficult journey.”
“These people are my parents, friends and coaches, without whom there would be nothing. In professional sports, coaches become your second parents, they know more about you and you spend more time with them than with your family.”
“I can say with confidence that in this regard I am an incredibly lucky person, because fate has given me two of the best families who have always supported me, believed in me when I myself was in despair, and in particularly difficult periods simply endured me. Mad respect, love and gratitude.”
“Also a special ode to the girls on the team, because there were quite a few of them since childhood. They are all fantastic, some have become my best friends for life.”
“Thank you to sport for everything I have, for the people I have met along the way, what I have achieved and who I have become. Sport has made me the person I have dreamed of becoming since childhood. And I do not regret anything.”
Fedina is a two-time Olympic medalist. In 2020, at the Tokyo Games, Marta won bronze medals in duet and group.

At the 2022 European Championships in Rome, Marta Fedina won six gold medals, two of which were in individual competitions. In total, Marta has 15 medals at European championships, 11 of which are gold.
