Russian Sviridov sets shot put world record at Paris Paralympics

Russian track and field athlete Vladimir Sviridov set a world record in the shot put at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.

On Wednesday, the final competition of the men’s shot put in the F36 class will take place at the Games. Sviridov showed the best result in the world – 17.18 meters, after four attempts out of six, the Russian is in the lead.

Previously, the world record belonged to the representative of Tunisia, Yassine Genici (16.86), it was set in July 2023.

The Paralympic Games in the French capital will end on September 8.
