Olympic champion in the team figure skating tournament Elena Ilinykh said that her husband, ballet dancer Sergei Polunin, greatly helped her to implement the idea of ​​shooting a video clip for the song of Australian singer Sia in Alaska.

— The story was this: I really liked one of Sia’s songs, one day I told Serioja about it and started dancing to it at home. The husband looked and said: “What’s the problem? Let’s do it!” We couldn’t just take the song. If you make a video and want to put it on YouTube, it’s not enough to get permission to use the music, you also need to pay royalties. Nevertheless, I informed the agent about our intentions and after a while I was told that all the formalities were settled and I could choose any of the five songs to choose from for the video. As a result, Sia herself posted information about the video on her channel, but we couldn’t start implementing this idea because I was expecting my second child.

A few months after the birth of our second son, we flew to America and returned to this topic – we started looking for a place where we could find ice in March. This is how the option with Alaska and a crazy beautiful cave was born.

— What do such projects bring you and are they profitable?

– Of course not. It’s just funny. But if you look closely, our whole life is somehow built on emotions. We remember them for a long time and therefore they are valuable. On the other hand, I myself would probably never be able to implement such a project – I would torture myself with doubts. The husband is structured completely differently in this regard: do you want it? So it’s a must! The creative engine of our family is exclusively Sergei, ”Ilinykh told RT.

Ilins is 30 years old. At the Sochi Olympics, she won gold in the team competition, as well as bronze in ice dancing in a duet with Nikita Katsalapov.
