Vyalbe: “RUSADA continues to work despite all the sanctions. I am grateful that the agency is not giving up.

President of the Russian Ski Federation (RFSR) Elena Vyalbe thanked the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) for its work, despite sanctions from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

On Thursday, the international anti-doping forum “Clean Sport without Borders” opened in Minsk.

— Despite all the sanctions already imposed en masse, RUSADA continues to work. After all, the most important thing is to educate athletes, not to undergo doping control. We are often faced with simple ignorance.

“I am grateful that RUSADA does not give up. Without doping, you can win prizes and medals. Clean sport is the most important thing that can exist,” Vyalbe said at the plenary session.

In the fall of 2023, the WADA Executive Committee concluded that RUSADA was still not in compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code and determined new conditions for reinstatement. RUSADA sent a formal notice of disagreement regarding the declaration of non-compliance with the Code to WADA. After that, WADA announced an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
