“We were not suing a small child who was driven to this nonsense. Claims specifically against mom” – statement from Plushenko’s Angels Academy

The press service of Plushenko’s Academy of Angels issued a statement responding to the claims made by the figure skater’s mother, Arina Parsegova.

On Monday, the Nikulinsky District Court of Moscow considered the complaint of the Plushenko Angels Academy against the representatives of the 12-year-old figure skater and decided to recover 1.8 million rubles from the defendant. In 2023, Parsegova left the Evgeni Plushenko Academy and began working with Eteri Tutberidze. In June, the co-owner of the Plushenko Angels Academy, Yana Rudkovskaya, told that she would sue the figure skater’s parents for her departure. The figure skater’s mother, Natalya Parsegova, said that the cost of the child’s psychological state is much higher than the amounts involved in the lawsuit.

It’s funny to say that our head coach Evgeniy Viktorovich Plushenko is rarely present at training. Without exaggeration, he spends all his time on the ice. He is not a robot and sometimes has to sleep.

There is no point in discussing Arina’s quadruple jumps. It is much easier to watch a video. All our training sessions are recorded and the most interesting moments are saved. But we could not even imagine that such recordings would be necessary in such a situation.

For each of us, family is a great value. And we absolutely do not understand how Arina’s mother can so mercilessly exploit her husband’s death in the media and in court. Yes, the management of Plushenko’s Angels knew that her father had been seriously ill for several months. However, no one ever put pressure on Natalia, much less on Arisha.

Our lawyer was ready to discuss all points, all conditions. Natalia could show the draft agreement to any of her lawyers. There can be no question of coercion or desperation.

All training was free, we purchased equipment, all formal payments and fees were compensated, and accommodation on the territory of the academy was also provided free of charge.

One thing was required from the mother: the child should study only at our academy. We were ready to invest money in our athlete and work for a common perspective.

Natalia’s side presented to the court only the fragments of correspondence that suited them. We did not sue the little child, whom the mother herself pushed to this absurdity; our claims are specifically directed against the mother. She is an adult, she makes decisions, she is responsible for them.

There is no need to reverse the agreement and the situation with its signature, presenting the academy as a monster, and Arina and her mother as victims.

Our respected coaches are loudly calling for the need to reach an agreement. But both sides always reach an agreement. We cannot agree with ourselves. But Natalia probably does not need it.
